AMERICA
The American colonists were fighting a defensive war during the American Revolution. They were fighting to become independent from their mother country Britain. After being self sufficient for 150 years the American colonists were not used to Britain meddling in their affairs. The taxes that were created angered the colonists very much. Even though the American military is not as strong as Britain's they should still win. The American colonists know what they are fighting for and therefore have more motivation. They believed it was part of their rights to become independent and create their own government since they thought Britain was a bad ruler. These people deserved to keep their land. The British should not be able to just take the land that the colonists worked hard to make livable. Even with the many hardships and disadvantages the American colonists had they still had good leadership and faith. This led them to win the war. This is why they should win.
BRITAIN
Britain was fighting the war to keep their colonies that they had rightfully obtained. England should win the war because they have better trained and more experienced soldiers. They also have a very strong navy. At this time Britain had the strongest army and navy so a simple war like this should be easy. Another thing the British had that gave them an advantage was the Loyalist, or Tories, that were in America. These Loyalists gave the British soldiers support and they were very encouraging. It is nice to know that someone is on your side. There were also profiteers that would sell goods to the British. They were also able to use the Loyalists and, in some cases, African slaves as spies. They were able to obtain some useful information from these people.
