Theodore worked to conserve the natural beauty of our nation. He worked along with Gifford Pinchot head of the federal Division of Forestry. He set aside 125 million acres of land to be used for national parks. This effort to preserve the land resulted in the success of Jack London's Call of the Wild and the creation of boy scouts and the Sierra Club.
